This vintage original 1946 MGM movie poster features Judy Garland in an iconic role at peak stardom & provides gorgeous images of Judy in vivid color that display beautifully. The poster was in good-very good condition prior to linen-backing. It had tiny paper loss & tiny tears on parts of folds, plus pinholes in corners. While the poster was pretty well backed, you can see signs of the above defects & restoration of the above defects. But artwork is truly amazing.
In a lavish Technicolor musical filmed, the movie tells the story of a young woman who joins the Harvey restaurant chain that had locations at railroad stations across mid century America as a waitress. She finds romance & trouble along the way.
This is celebrated as one of Garland's best musicals along with The Wizard of Oz and Meet Me in St. Louis. It won an Oscar for Best Song which was entitled “On the Atchison, Topeka & the Santa Fe” co-written by Johnny Mercer. & sung by Judy.
